Start Smart – Constructive Conversations Day 2 - CREATE

ELD Objective(s):
Students will interpret a text by combining clauses to make connections to join ideas, using CREATE phrases (e.g., I connect to ___ because ___,etc.) by explaining their ideas to a partner and writing notes.


Students will learn how to use the Conversation Analysis Tool to help them become better at the CREATE conversation skill.

  1. The second lesson was a warm up. The lesson took about 10 -15 minutes to deliver

    Glows:
    - Lesson was very focused and to the point
    - Students enjoyed working with the CAT tool and found it to be very helpful
    - Lesson organization was really effective and delivered it's promised goals

    Grows
    - It would have been better if we have taught the CAT through a model answer rather than a non- model answer
    - Students have already heard the non model answer, so some of them complained that they have done this before. Creating another non- model will be much effective
